Decorating The Island
Although the main events will be in and around The Old Barge, we'd like to involve the whole island as much as possible.
We would like to invite everybody to decorate their house on a theme. Last time it was "FOLLYWOOD". We've asked around and the most popular and appropriate for 2012 is "FOLLYMPICS", anything sport related.
We've seen ove the last three years that it gives everybody a lovely way to get involved.
This was The Folly decorated for the 2009 party.
It works like this:
- think of a way of decorating the outside of your house on the theme (you can be as literal or as cryptic as you like);
- plan for your decorations to be up by the Sunday morning of the party;
- decorate your house;
- sit back and enjoy the admiration!
There will be a most valuable certificate for the best (and cleverest) decoration.
Also, we would be very happy if anybody would like to run a stall from their house (perhaps offering teas, cakes, games or crafts). Any proceeds going to the charity will make us even more happy! We will be able to give advice on setting up a stall, especially health and safety advice.
